Restaurant Review

New Golden Gate (Boston MA)

(617) 338-7721    66 Beach Street,
Boston, MA 02111

Reviewed by: Jacqueline M. Newman
Spring Volume: 2007 Issue: 14(1) page: 24 and 25

When we enter New Golden Gate, it is not very crowded and do wonder if their chow has tanked. Absolutely, and not at all, is what we learn. Eating alone at dinner feels odd, ut we do enjoy their Squid with Pickled Vegetables, Salt and Pepper Veal Ribs, and the Steamed Oysters in Black Bean Sauce. We were lucky that they were in season; on our last visit, they were not. We also delight in devouring their Clams in Black Bean Sauce. Yes, we do need to know why this Boston beauty is not very popular now. Maybe readers can advise about this restaurant; we hope they can, and that it stays in business.
