Restaurant Review

Emerald Chinese Seafood Restaurant (San Diego CA)

(858) 565-6888    3709 Convoy Street,
San Diego, CA 92111

Emerald Chinese Seafood is another, new-to-us great Hong Kong/Cantonese eatery. Susan Lu, its owner, oversees this and a sister California spot in Rancho Bernardo called Pearl. We have not been there yet, but this jewel has fine dim sum daily. Regular and banquet menus are tri-lingual, as they are in many Chinese restaurants in this city. The banquet biggee is in English, Chinese, and Japanese. Dim sum here is ever so good. We have the best soft warm tofu, citrus flavored; and fantastic chicken feet are to drool over. We commend their BBQ Pork Tart, Shark Fin Gow, Rice Balls in Bamboo Leaves, Stewed Ox Mix, and Fried Baby Squid, among other goodies. Worth noting is that service here is great, plates are changed often, and staff inquires about what you need or want, and often.

There are other good Chinese places in this city and its nearby suburbs. One can find them by checking the web: www.sandiegan.com What we learn in and around San Diego is that many Chinese places serve very good Chinese food and those of other Asian cultures.
