Restaurant Review

King Tin (Corvallis OR)

This eatery is a huge place in a town where most of the Chinese restaurant are buffets. The menu, in Chinese and English, features foods from the Beijing, Hunan, and Sichuan provinces. These and Chow Mein, Chow Fun, and sizzling iron platters along with lots of vegetarian selections are adored in this university town of Oregon State. We delighted in many of their foods, especially their Buddha's Delight. Many of its vegetables were fresh and fine as was the bok cai, a few were canned. such as the corn, peas, and bamboo shoots. Some, such as the carrots came both ways. The tofu in this dish and the Chinese black mushrooms were fresh and dried, respectfully, and both were wonderful. The Shrimp with Lobster Sauce was not as good, though it did please many because we saw it on almost every table. True to form, it did not have nor should there be any lobster meat; but it was loaded with onions and scallions, and the sauce was brown, we know not why; but do know it is usually white.
