Restaurant Review

South Sea Seafood Village (Millbrae CA)

(630) 962-0688    195 El Camino Real,
Millbrae, CA 94030

Winter Volume: 2011 Issue: 18(4) page: 11 and 35

This review was in response to a letter from Aileen via e-mail who asked: Did you not eat out when at the Top 100 Awards ceremonyy? And if so, can you share something about those restaurants, I'd like to know as i live near where they were awarded. AILEEN: Yes, did have several meals in Millbrae, however only ate at each restaurant once, and did not select the food; it was pre-ordered for us.

We were taken to this one, also Chili Palace, and Zen Village. They are reported here among the Volume 18(4) restaurant reviews. Do check them out, as well.

Their pao cai was good, the five-item cold platter better, and their shrimp with egg whites served on rice noodles, better still. Their scallops, beef, and red oniion dish looked lovely surrounded by thin cucumber slices, but the beef was tough. The soup was jazzed up egg-drop overloaded with thickener. No one at my table empited their bowls. The crab dish was very good, but hardle enough crab for the eleven of us. Also, most of the cold-roasted chicken was left over, probably because it came overcooked and dry.
