Restaurant Review

Chili Palace (Milpitas CA)

(408) 935-9628    177 W Calveras Blvd.,
Milpitas, CA 95035

This review is in response to a letter from Aileen via e-mail. She asked: Did you not eat out when at the Top 100 Awards ceremonyy? And if so, can you share something about those restaurants, I'd like to know as i live near where they were awarded. AILEEN: Yes, did have several meals in Millbrae, however only ate at each restaurant once, and did not select the food; it was pre-ordered for us.

We were taken to this resturant, also South Sea Seafood Village as guests of the Top 100 meeting event. They are reported on, one by one, in the Restaurant reviews section of Volume 18(4). We also went to Zen Peninsula as guests of local friends. Do check each of these out separately.

At Chili Palace there were too many folks stuffed into their one room, served by too few in wait staff. Many dishes did not make the mark, even the Tofu with Chini came too dry and too oil-infused for most. Fresh chilis would have made this dish better. The Scallops with Broccoli dish was overcooked, both of them. The lobster dish came with with no sauce and no flavor. DFisappointed so tasted no other dishes at this lunch.
