by: Shaobing Li

Beijing China: China Pictorial Publishing House 2006, Paperback
ISBN: 7-80220-062-8

Winter Volume: 2008 Issue: 15(4) page(s): 25

Translated by Liu Zongren, most teahouses in this city have put on new appearances, and preserved their essential elements. Information about them permeates all pages. The book begins with tea drinking in Old Beijing, discusses their ceremonies, customs, and rituals including at Buddhist temples, and tea drinking by common folk in this city. Also included are Tianqiao amusement tea gardens and other tea houses including famous ones. The book ends with bilingual addresses of five of them, and a tiny picture, too.
