Two girls, new to a Vancouver neighborhood, become good friends. However, an ugly rumor threatens their relationship. In all nine chapters, mature children, especially pre-teens and even adults will sympathize and empathize with the girls and their very few friends. They will even detest their adversaries. Yum Yum Deli, owned by the parents of one of them, is the scene and savory focus of the story. After it ends, three recipes sweeten the tense moments of their plight. Making them, brings smiles in this simply illustrated super story. It is an experience grown ups and kids of all ages can understand. It is one most have been through. It is one whose solution is heart-warming. The book, by winning author of a Canadian Governor General's Award for Children's Literature is illustrated by a finalist for the Christie Harris Illustrated Children's Literature Prize. It is a winner for every child on your holiday shopping list.
