This book is for the young and for the young at heart. It is a look at China’s history, cities and countryside, the Yangtze River, the zoo, and common festivals. There is a map of this ‘Middle Kingdom,’ one of the largest countries in the world. It shows it in relation to the rest of the world. Though intended for children it is a good reference for all ages.

In it one learns that more people speak Chinese than any other language world-wide, they write using calligraphy, etc. In it one learns some Chinese history, foods, how to use chopsticks, and using Chinese money. These are shown as one visits pandas, traffic, China's space program, and more.
