Sate Beef (Indonesian Barbecue Beef)
2 pounds bonelss flank or sirloin steak
1 small onion, minced
3 to 4 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
1 Tablespoon ground coriander
2 teaspoons ground cumin:br> 1/4 teaspoon gound cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon groung nutmeg
3 Tablespoons thin soy sauce
1 Tablespoon heavy or dark soy sauce
1 Tablespoon sugar
juice form 1 lime
2 medium onions, cut in six pieces
2 to 3 firm tomatoes, each cut into six pieces
2 green peppers, ech cut into twelve pieces
1. Cut staek into one-inch cubes.
2. Comine all other ingredients except the onions, tomatoes, and peppers, mixing well. Por over the beef and marinate in the refrigerator for art least six hours.
3. Arrange steak, onions, tomatoes, and green peppers altermately on skewers and grill over a charcoal fire until done. Remove from skewers and place on a warmed platter with peanut sauce on the side.
